Learn how to get started with FeedbackHub and make the most of all our features.
Getting Started
Welcome to FeedbackHub! This guide will walk you through the essential steps to start collecting and managing feedback for your projects. Follow these simple steps to get up and running in minutes.
1. Create a Project
A project is the foundation of your feedback management workflow. Each project represents a product, service, or feature set where you'll collect and organize feature requests from your users.
Steps to Create a Project:
Navigate to your dashboard: After signing in, you'll be taken to your project list page. If you don't see any projects yet, that's perfectly normal—you're just getting started!
Click the "Create Project" button: Click it to open the project creation.
Fill in the project information:
Project Name (required): Choose a clear, descriptive name for your project. This name will be visible to both you and your users.
Description (optional): Add a brief overview of what your project is about. This helps users understand the context when submitting feedback.
Project Details (optional): Provide more detailed information about your project, including requirements, current features, or any specific guidelines for feedback.
Customize Categories (optional): By default, feature requests are categorized as "Suggestion", "New Feature", or "Bug Fix". You can customize these categories to better match your workflow. Simply type your categories separated by commas (e.g., "Enhancement, Bug Fix, Feature Request").
Enable Link Sharing (optional): Toggle this option if you want users to be able to join your project by clicking a shared link. If disabled, only invited users can access the project.
Submit: Click "Create Project" to finalize. Your project will be created instantly, and you'll be redirected to its dashboard.
Project Limits
With a free account, you can create 1 project. To create unlimited projects, you'll need to upgrade to a paid subscription plan.
Tip
Choose a unique project name that clearly identifies your product or service. A well-named project makes it easier for users to find and submit feedback in the right place.
2. Share the Project
Sharing your project allows team members and users to collaborate, submit feedback, and contribute to your product development. FeedbackHub offers multiple ways to share your project with others.
Method 1: Invite by Email
Open the Share page: From your project dashboard, click the "Share" button (usually located in the top navigation or settings area).
Enter email addresses: In the Share page, you'll find an input field for email addresses. Type the email of the person you want to invite.
Send the invitation: Click "Send Invite" to send an invitation email. The invited user will receive a link they can use to join your project.
Manage invitations: You can see all pending and accepted invitations in the Share page. Pending invitations can be cancelled if needed.
Method 2: Link Sharing
Enable link sharing: In the Share page, you'll see a toggle for "Link Sharing". Enable this option to allow anyone with the project link to join.
Copy the project link: Once link sharing is enabled, you'll see a "Copy Link" button. Click it to copy your project's public URL to your clipboard.
Share the link: Share this link via email, messaging apps, social media, or embed it on your website. Anyone who clicks the link and signs in will be able to join your project and submit feedback.
Team Collaboration
When you invite team members, they'll be able to view and manage feature requests alongside you. All shared users have access to the project's feedback board, roadmap, and analytics.
Important Note
Link sharing must be enabled for the link sharing method to work. If link sharing is disabled, only users you explicitly invite via email will be able to access the project.
3. Add New Feature Requests
Feature requests are the core of FeedbackHub. They represent ideas, suggestions, or feedback from your users. Both you and your team members can create feature requests, as can external users if you've shared your project publicly.
How to Create a Feature Request:
Open the Create page: From your project's feedback page, look for a "New Request" button. Click it to open the creation page.
Fill in the request information:
Title (required): Provide a clear, concise summary of your feature request. This should be a brief description that captures the essence of your idea (e.g., "Add dark mode support" or "Enable export to PDF").
Category (optional): Select a category for your feature request. The available categories depend on your project settings—either the default categories (Suggestion, New Feature, Bug Fix) or custom categories you've defined.
Details (optional): Add a detailed description of your feature request. Explain what problem it solves, how it would work, or any specific requirements. The more detail you provide, the easier it is for the project team to understand and implement your request.
Submit the request: Click "Submit Request" to create the feature request. It will immediately appear in your project's feedback board.
Best Practices for Feature Requests
Use clear, descriptive titles that summarize the request
Provide context about why the feature is needed
Include use cases or examples when possible
Be specific about desired functionality
What Happens Next?
Once created, your feature request can be voted on by users, commented on for discussion, and moved through different statuses (New, Planned, In Progress, Shipped) on the roadmap. Project owners can manage these requests from the dashboard.
